FAQs

About WiseUp

Do WiseUp run team building days in schools?

Yes. WiseUp is a fully mobile service. Our instructors bring all equipment to your school, set everything up, run the activities and pack everything away at the end of the day.

Where are WiseUp based?

WiseUp has multiple bases across the UK, with our main head office in Kent and additional bases in the Midlands and Glasgow. This allows us to deliver programmes to schools across England, Scotland and Wales.

Group Sizes

How many students can you work with?

WiseUp programmes work well for class groups, year groups and whole-school events. We regularly run activity days for multiple classes or entire year groups at once.

Can you run events for large year groups or whole schools?

Yes. We specialise in large-scale events and regularly work with entire year groups or whole schools. Our largest event involved over 1,200 students in a single day.

What group sizes do students work in during activities?

Our activities are typically delivered in groups of up to 36 students, which are then split into three teams of 12 so everyone stays actively involved.

Can groups be larger than 12 students?

No. Our activities are specifically designed for teams of 12 students so everyone has an active role. Larger groups can leave some students unable to participate, which goes against the teamwork experience we aim to create.

Planning Your Day

What space do we need?

We can run activities indoors or outdoors. Fields, sports halls, playgrounds, MUGAs and classrooms can all work depending on the programme and group size.

How long do WiseUp activity days last?

We are flexible and can run full-day programmes, half-day sessions, or morning and afternoon rotations, fitting around your school timetable.

Can you link the activities to our school values or outcomes?

Yes. Many schools link their day to outcomes such as teamwork, communication, leadership, resilience or wellbeing, and we can also run inter-house competitions or themed challenges.

Do all activities involve teamwork?

Yes. All activities are designed to develop teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.

Students & Accessibility

Are the activities suitable for primary students?

Yes. We run programmes specifically designed for primary school students, as well as secondary and college groups.

Will older students find it engaging?

Yes. We regularly work with secondary schools, sixth forms, colleges, teachers and corporate groups.

Are activities suitable for wheelchair users or students with additional needs?

Yes. Our activities are designed to be fully inclusive, and where possible wheelchair users can take part directly. Where an activity is more physical, there is always an active role within the team so every student can contribute.

Do your instructors have enhanced DBS checks?

Yes. All WiseUp instructors hold enhanced DBS checks and have extensive experience working with schools and young people.

Safety & Logistics

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes. WiseUp Team Building holds £10 million public liability insurance.

Once your booking is confirmed, schools receive access to our WiseUp Members Area, where copies of our insurance documentation can be downloaded for your records.

Do you provide risk assessments?

Yes. Full risk assessments and safety documentation are available for all of our activities.

After confirming your booking, these documents can be accessed through our WiseUp Members Area.

What happens if it rains?

Our activities run rain or shine, just like a day at an outdoor activity centre. We deliver programmes throughout the year in all conditions, including winter weather and snow.

Students should come prepared for all weather. If the forecast looks particularly poor before the event, it is helpful to have an indoor space available as a backup, although we aim to stay outside in the fresh air whenever possible.

Booking & Payment

How do we book a WiseUp activity day?

You can contact us by:

We will check availability for your preferred date and discuss your requirements. Once a date is agreed, we will send you a secure online booking form to confirm your event.

How much does a WiseUp activity day cost?

Our pricing is usually per student, subject to a minimum booking cost. Because we bring everything to your school, it is often more cost-effective than travelling to an outdoor centre.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. Your price includes equipment, instructors, travel and delivery of the activities.

When do we need to pay?

Once your booking form has been submitted, we will issue an invoice.

Payment is due eight weeks prior to the event date. If your booking is made within eight weeks of the event, the invoice will be issued with standard 30-day payment terms.

If your school requires a purchase order or specific invoicing process, we are happy to accommodate this.
